SOA 335 - Jazz In American Culture
Explores development of jazz as a popular art form, the influence of American culture (e.g., race, class, gender relations, religion and moralism, and the dominance of commercial values) on the shape of this art form, its performance and enjoyment, and the reciprocal influence of jazz on American culture. Course Information: This course fulfills a general education requirement at UIS in the area of Social and Behavioral Sciences.
